Happy New Year everybody!
Wow, I have been seriously neglecting The Bear and The Blackberry. I miss all of you! How is your 2013 treating you so far? Mine has been really great so far! My New Years Eve was really fun, since I got to spend it hanging out with Jef and our friends Mark and Colby! Mark and I made a raw pizza feast, and it was AMAZING!
Mark is a raw foods enthusiast and the owner of Kieraw, the tasty raw food spreads! If you live in the bay area, be sure to check out Kieraw at Rainbow Grocery and El Cerrito Natural Grocery!

Here is our raw pizza… awaiting dehydration! I made the pizza crust from the savory raw bread recipe that I got from The Green Boheme, which is basically nuts and veggies that my magical food processor chopped up into little pieces, and then olive oil and flax meal were added to it, and it became raw pizza dough… amazing!
On top of this delicious dense crust, we layered a garlicky walnut-hemp cheese on top of a pistachio pesto, and then covered the pizza in raw green olives, marinated and dehydrated mushrooms, and green onion.
The marinated and dehydrated mushrooms tasted like they had been sauteed! All I did was slice up some cremini mushrooms and then marinate them in olive oil and coconut aminos, with a pinch of himalayan salt. After letting them soak up this juice for a few hours, I dehydrated them at 115 degrees fahrenheit for a couple of hours.

After our pizzas were topped, we threw them in the dehydrator for about a half hour or so.
Here is a slice of our pizza fresh out of the dehydrator! We served it with a spinach apple salad that we made an avocado and orange juice dressing for. I ate a ridiculous amount of this pizza because it was so freaking good!
For dessert, Mark brought some little raw pumpkin pies that he had made for Thanksgiving. We ate these with raw cashew cream ice cream… so good!
Your pizza looks so delicious! I have made a raw pizza only a couple of times. The last time being for Hallowe’en. I would love to try your recipe this weekend. Love the mushrooms!!
Yum! Happy New Year
What a feast!! I’m SO close to getting a dehydrator – I cannot wait!
Hooray! : ) I can’t wait to see what creations you come up with when you get one!
I have a feeling it’s a big learning curve…
Yay I’m glad you are back! What a great spread of food you have there, NOM!
Thank you! It’s great to be back in blogland! : )
